I USED TO BE CODEPENDENT | How to break the cycle of codependency | Storytime



I’m going to attempt to close the proverbial loop and explain how to overcome the cycle of codependency.

And I don’t mean theoretically, but I mean really break out of the cycle of codependency and form healthy relationships with emotionally healthy people.

I’m not a medical or mental health professional and I’m not going to be referring to codependency specifically as it relates to families with alcoholism or addiction (codependency is a well-known term in those circles).

I’m going to be sharing strictly from my own personal experience because I was actually raised by parents who were codependent and somewhat dysfunctional, even though despite their issues, they did the best they could with raising me.

What I will be sharing is how to overcome codependent characteristics and behavior and recover your self-esteem and in the process, break the intergenerational pattern that is so prevalent.
